ALPE D'HUEZ

Alpe d'Huez is one of the most famous ski resort in France and all the Alps. The length and the variety of its ski runs attract here both families with kids and expert skiers.

The resort is very well known for its exceptional snow and weather conditions. A breath-taking panorama waits for you on the top of the highest lift (Pic Blanc, 3330 m).

For the ones that don't ski or want to take a day of rest there is an impressive number of activities both sportive and leisure.

If you prefer to stay in a calm place, there is no problem to find accommodation in one of the small peripherical resorts (connected to the main one by cable car).

● Alpe d'Huez in a few words & figures:

Snow warranty : 80 % of ski runs above 1800 m + 900 snow cannons
Sun warranty : 300 days of sun per year + a majority of ski runs with southern exposition
Length and variety of ski runs: 250 km of ski runs quite evenly spread between easy, medium and hard (alt. from 1200 to 3300 m)
Additionally: illuminated ski run, snowpark, a special « new winter sports » run, many possibilities of off-piste skiing, many other winter sports (ski touring, snowshoeing, nordic skiing, mountaineering, ice climbing, mushing, paragliding, ice diving...)

● Nowhere else:

piste de Sarenne - world's longest skirun covering 16 km (easy black)
– "my first 8000" = 4 runs of approx. 2000 m vertical drop – their realisation during one day is a serious challenge for any skier
– many indoor sports can be practiced in the resort: (skating rink, swimming pool, climbing wall, tennis, squash, table tennis, badminton, fitness, basket ball, volley ball, etc. ) – access to almost all is free with the "Visalp" ski pass
